Our area, some of the most pristine mtns. in the world, from the Indian Peaks Mtn. range to Rocky Mtn. National Park and Longs Peaks, this area has been hit hard by the Rocky Mtn Pine Beetle , the little critter below, they have wiped out million of old growth and younger trees in a matter of several years. While the the death of these trees has scared the landscape of our area, it has given our trade a very outstanding timber to use and enjoy. The blue stain as seen above on the back of the right rocker , is the result of the beetle. Color, flair and beauty have come to our wood from a very sad move by Mother nature and her bug.
